Well there are many reasons and one of it is that in this rally ten of thousands of Malaysian marched together blind of their race, religion and color of their skin for a common cause; asking for an Electoral reform which is very important to our young democracy. To me indeed a historic day.
Electoral reform, eh? I find it amusing. Oh come on Pak Idrus, let's not be so naive. Incidentally, there's one more thing that needs to be corrected. You said tens of thousands marched the streets of KL, regardless of colour, etc, etc. I say, take a closer look. 99% of the demonstrators are Malays like you and me. Sorry if I have offended you, but I don't like to be pretentious.
Siti Roffini, thanks for the return visit. I do not want to argue with you since you believe in what you believe. Didn't you watch all the videos of the rally. Go to Facebook and Twitter and watch it. I believe what I saw on that day.
I am not naive neither am I pretentious but I cannot make those who believe in what they believe to understand.

Dear Pak Idrus, thank you for your meaningful way of commemorating this historical event. As one of my friends put it: "Today, as I marched alongside my comrades of all races and from different political parties, I didn't feel like a pendatang anymore. I felt like I belonged." This young man is not alone in his views. A group of my friends, comprising both BN and PR supporters, went together and reported that they saw nothing but solidarity, unity, goodwill and a very strong love of the country. There was no burning of flags, posters or t-shirts. They said they found the 1Malaysia that Najib himself never experienced that day. (Postscript: But the former BN supporters have since expressed doubt that they will vote BN again in the next GE!)
