The American Election..

I have live in the US and found the people friendly and the living atmosphere great. It is a place where one could acquire knowledge in whatever field one choose. My children did that and I am happy that America gave them the opportunity to study and acquire knowledge. On my latest visit to America from May to July this year I notice that most American want change and this could translate into an Obama win.

Because of its foreign policy American image is at its worst now. I hope that Obama win. It is the only way to bring back America to the fold. With Obama I believe the image of America would be cured fast.

The world is now in a financial mess which start in America. So it looks like the new President of USA has got lots to do come next year. 2009 would be the beginning of a new chapter of the world if we have President Obama in charge.

Have a nice day.

Yes Pak Idrus, I too harbor hopes of Obama becoming President. With his Jakarta childhood, hopefully he'll have a soft spot for SEA. If nothing else, just to see what direction the USA will take after 8 years of Bush madness.

Some pundits claim that Obama will have a lot on his hands to undo the damage by Bush & Co... and will use the whole of his 1st term just to clean the mess up.

BTW Pak, please keep your calender clear for the 29th. Same venue and please inform Pak Adib too. Thanks.

Salam Pak Idrus,

Yes, This IS the week! This week Americans will have the final opportunity to change the course of their future and to a certain extent the rest of the world too.

I watched the last advertisement campaign from the Obama-Biden group and I saw a man who understand the needs and hopes of the common man, the janitor who wants to see his son go to University, the single mother who worries about the next payment for her car, the teacher who wants a little more aid in the classrooms...

Hope and Pray....that is all left for us to do...not so much for us, but for the ones in the cradles..

Terima kasih for giving me the honor to drop by. Take care and salam jauh,
Yati - USA

mat salo, thanks for the visit and sharing your thoughts on this subject.

Yes I said a win for Obama would not only change America but the world as well since what happen in America do in some ways affects the world. As for Malaysia, America is one of our major trading partner and if the economy of America is bad then it would surely translate to bad economy for us. I am hoping for the best for America and the best would come if Obama win. And he would have his hand full to get the Bush's mess out of the system.

Sure I shall keep that day free and would be there to meet the other blogger.

Have a nice day.

As I have said I have live in the US and happy with it. It has been like a second home to me and my spouse. The right leadership in America is important to the world. Its democracy is a great example to us and how I wished that we are practicing that kind of democracy. I hope we would get there some days.

Pak Idrus!

Salaam dari Ulu Michigan!

Yes, I just voted! My wife is working all day today at the polling site as a poll worker, one of the ladies that sign you in, give you the ballot, and guide you through the process.

I have never seen such long lines at our local polling station before! I live in a heavily conservative and Repulican area, so I am assuming that McCain will gather the majority of the votes here. (My wife and I voted for Obama!) But then, this election is bringing out all kinds of people who are normally indifferent to the election process, so who knows what will happen? (But the population of the Detroit region will assure that Michigan, overall, will go for Obama.)

As you know, many Americans are not happy with what our administration has inflicted on the world for the past 8 years. My wife and I belong to the 50% of the Americans that did NOT vote for GW Bush over the past 8 years. We hope, along with the rest of the world, that the same 50%, along with many others, will work to bring in a new hope to the USA and the world! Please pray for all of us! Cheers!

The American have a different system and at time we got lost as to how it works. Anyway we are watching the news by minutes to see the change to come. Still I hope that Obama win in these crucial period of not only the American history but the world as well.
